The last thing you heard is not the silver bullet.
Looking for a quick fix to your business problems?
There’s one – look! It’s Instagram!!!
There’s another – quick, quick! It’s Facebook Ads!
Let’s try another – slash the prices!
No! It’s SEO that will fix everything!
Have you ever felt like this?
If you run a small business you probably have.
Does any of it work?
Sure … all of those things can work (… maybe not slashing prices!)
How do you know which ones will work for you?
All of your actions should be part of a plan
Pricing is part of your cash flow plan.
Social media is part of your marketing plan.
Marketing is part of your business plan.
A plan steers your actions
A plan starts with your goals.
Every time you need to make a decision, ask, “Will that take me closer or further away from my goals?”
“Where does it fit in my plan?”
True story: I recently spoke to someone who was dispirited by the constant struggle to make a profit. Taking some time out to look at what was happening showed that by increasing sales by just ONE extra a month, their break even point was reduced from two years to one year. Isn’t that worth knowing?
Finding the time to make a plan
When you’re super busy, it can seem counter-intuitive to take time out to make a plan, but planning how to grow your business and how to manage the growth will save you a lot of time, false starts and hitting brick walls.
If you want to give it a go, let me know. It’s not scary, honest.
