Helen’s Update

Helen Crowe

(Sept 28th: 48 hours after having surgery to remove the brain tumour, Helen was at home, feeding her cats!)

This is one of the loveliest comments we got to pass on to Helen

Hi Helen,

I’ve not known you for long, but I’m never less than totally floored by your amazing strength and positivity.  I’ve seen the photo of you hours after your op. and, frankly, was deeply moved by it.  And us blokes whinge about coughs and colds!

I’m not always brilliant at expressing myself, especially by e-mail or letter, but I’m so glad you’re on our team.  Someone else is going to have to wait for another sunbeam, the transfer window is not open, you are our massive sunny day! and I am humbled to be able to share the planet with you.

Hoping to meet you again soon, very best wishes to you and Mike.

Hello Amazing Ann!

I do hope this email finds you happy and healthy?!  I’m doing well at the moment, although it occurred to me that I haven’t been in touch for a while,  apologies for that  – it’s been an ‘interesting’ few weeks, is the best way to sum it up!

Update is that I’m scheduled to have an op to remove the brain tumour this Friday in Addenbrookes.  I’m going in on Thursday for preparation, and depending on how the procedure goes, may be home sometime next week.  The radiotherapy which I had over 3 weeks in August wasn’t as successful as anticipated in removing the tumour and the activity surrounding it, which essentially has been making me feel very unwell and exacerbating the symptoms I’d already been having.  So I am very relaxed and happy to be taking the next step on the road to recovery – I have complete faith & trust in my surgeon – we are a winning team!  No specifics on how long it’ll take to recover from the surgery – so much depends on what they find, how I respond etc, etc.  But I’ve already put in an order for a quick, speedy and pain-free recovery!

So, if you’re inclined to send love, support and healing energies my way before, during and after the procedure, please feel free!  I’d also be grateful if you could let others know, depending on how you think fit.  I’ve received so much incredible love and support from friends in the Inspired Group, I’d very much like them to know how I’m doing & being.

With much love and gratitude, as always

Helen

(If you’d like to send Helen your love and don’t have her details please get in touch with me and I’ll pass them on.)
